Lissette Rodriguez was detained by officials in Syracuse, for “looking Latina,” according to a GoFundMe fundraising campaign page set up by her brother, Bryan, in White Plains. Following her detainment, ICE set a bond of $15,000 for Lissette to be released.

A White Plains High School graduate, her brother said that Lissette has lived in the country since she was 14 and has Special Immigrant Juvenile Status while she awaits the opportunity for a visa to become available so she can apply for a green card. She is currently a student at Bryant & Stratton College in Syracuse.

Rodriguez is reportedly being detained at a shelter in Buffalo while she awaits the bond to be raised. In just one day, the GoFundMe page raised more than $20,000.
